  1. hey sargam, just looked at your sketches...i dont know which one is better or anything but sketches on the top where all the alphabets DKM are in capital....there is something cathcy about that concept. the sharp angles and the lines seem like a lot can be done with it...fiddled around with. i mean figure and ground can be explored and a lot i think..all the best. i hope i made sense

  2. ok which one,

the one where the DKM is in a serif with an italic d? or the third sheet? where the dkm is in capital too, but integrated showing only parts of the alphabet...?

  3. and if it is the very first one that u re talking about, I have been asked to take that one forward too, but it has to be with an integration

  4. ya the first two on your post, the first one i thought the D was italisiszed by mistake hehe but anyways...Thats nice yaar. The thing is na that ive seen many logos with these integrating things and if you common elements, it becomes more intersting to work with. il send you some examples to make it clear as to what im talking about. tc

  5. Feedback from Pythogras:
    - something unique about the one with <
    - the d and k integration of the slab serif one on the second page is not clear enough, and could have a stamp like bold feel to it.
    - figure and ground one can be taken forward. A san serif could be tried for it, and the minimisation should be minimised completely :P
    - the bold options are better than the cursive ones especially since the colour scheme is going to be a bold one ( red, black and white)

  8. Baniya, but they all look highly similar to the RF logo you've posted.
    Try a different approach perhaps?

  9. Karno, the approach is type integration and there are only a few things you can do with it given the restrictions namely, the firm's image is bold, so no cursive. Its new, so preferably san serif. The initials should be given equal importance, so no hierarchy and no visual anchor in the letters dkm..and there are tons more.

And if you look carefully, there is only one option in those 3 pages that is similar to the rf logo.

Once the form is decided, the treatment and the choice of typeface will completely change its similarity to the rf logo.

I am considering your point though, and if possible, it would be nice if you gave me another direction for an approach because I am currently unable to think.

  10. ok, is the 2nd 'd' necessary? isn't dkm fine? or he wants design tagged with his name as well?
    OR,
if you are using 4 letters, then try making them in a way so that the D can be rounded off, like in math [ does that help your hierarchy point?]
    OR,
make a form [say a box] and fit in the letters there, giving justice to the type, the designer and his designs.

maybe this is completely inane also. i can't think myself :(
